It is a simple set of rules formally agreed by Internet users and the UK Usenet Committee, they came about by a democratic consensus of opinion. These rules operate only by consent, if you don't like or disagree with these rules then anybody is entitled to formally proposes changes to the appropriate authorities. UKRS is known as a friendly and tolerant group, we would like to keep it that way, please abide by the Charter when using the group.

CHARTER:
This unmoderated group provides the opportunity for discussion of all aspects of UK scuba diving, including diving equipment, diving locations and forthcoming diving trips. The content may be of a technical nature and posting of hints, tips and advice is positively encouraged.
Content should be relevant to the UK, for example:
+ discussion of UK diving resources
+ techniques which apply to UK diving
+ UK clubs and organizations
+ UK books and other publicationsSubscribers are requested to keep all postings in plain ASCII text and not to use alternatives such as HTML etc.
Advertising:
Short commercial advertisements of products, services etc. that directly relate to scuba diving in the UK are permitted but must be kept short (10 lines including signature) and references to WWW URL's and email addresses would be preferred. Subject lines should denote 'Advert' or similar.
Announcements and advertisements from clubs and organizations are permitted but must be kept short (10 lines including signature) and references to WWW URL's and email addresses would be preferred. Subject lines should denote 'Announcement' or similar.
Private for-sale adverts are permitted but must be kept short and indicate 'For-Sale' in the subject line. Responses, discussion and negotiation resulting from such adverts should be carried out by private email.
Commercial, For Sale and Announcements from any one individual or organization must be limited to a posting frequency of not more than one posting per month.
Binaries:
The posting of binary files is not allowed on this group and should be reserved for binary specific newsgroups. References to binaries in binary specific newsgroups, WWW URL's and FTP sites is welcomed.
